Hopefilled

What is hopefilled? It is the quiet assurance that fills you in the uncertainty of life. It is knowing that you are not alone in your darkest moments. It is knowing that you can be confident because you have God on your side.

Being hopefilled is having a total trust in God’s promises.

How I became Hopefilled

When I was in middle school there was a season of depression for me. Depression is a lack of hope and in my case a self-focused heart.  I wasn’t pleasant to be around. In turn, I had few friends. This led to insecurities and feeling hopeless.

I struggled with this until the summer of 2015.

I was working at a camp called Maranatha Camp and Retreat Center. I was four hours from my family, my comfort zones, and I couldn’t just leave and go home. That summer was one of self-discovery. I spent 11-12 hours on my feet every day. I served people their food, cleaned up after them, cleaned the most disgusting grease tramps you can imagine.

While there I met the most amazing woman named Barbie. She showed me her theme verse – Hebrew 6:19.

Hebrews 6:19 AMP
[19] This hope [this confident assurance] we have as an anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it]—a safe and steadfast hope that enters within the veil [of the heavenly temple, that most Holy Place in which the very presence of God dwells], [Lev 16:2]”

She explained to me how she found rest and hope in Jesus no matter the circumstances she faced. With her help and help from the Lord I began to rest completely on the promise of Hebrews 6:19. I had felt lost when I started my camp job. By the end of the summer, I discovered the Lord’s security.

I, for the first time in my life, began to see others as more important than myself. I embraced being a believer and Christ follower. I realized I had an anchor holding me steady in life’s storms. I had a hope (confident assurance) that God had me. He loved me. He was with me.

With that assurance He would never leave me or let me drown in my circumstance, I began to live Hopefilled.

~Your Monday Moment~

What about you? What is keeping you from living hopefilled?

Do you know and have a personal relationship with the One who give you that hope?

As you start this week, know that you can live hopefilled too.

Believe that Jesus is real. Believe that He is the Son of God. He died on the cross for your sins. Believe that He rose three days later and is alive in Heaven with God. Believe that and ask Him to forgive you of your sins.

God promises, when we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us (1 John 1:9). He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. In that promise set your hope.

This Monday start living hopefilled.
