One thing that I have thoroughly enjoyed as a mama is planning my kids’ birthdays.
I love organizing a day that celebrates my babies. It brings friends and family together. It showcases who my kids have grown into that year. I love picking out the decorations and setting them out to look beautiful.
This month, we have celebrated our baby girl. She is our little strawberry girl, so that’s what her birthday party was.
The birthdays we throw for our kiddos have gotten simpler since we’ve had our oldest. It makes the planning process easier, and I can focus on a couple tasks instead of 100 different tasks.
For this party, we just bought a few decoration packs and focused on a couple areas to decorate. The dining room and the entry. This limits stimulation (for me) and it makes for a quicker clean up time. The decorations we used this year were from Amazon. They had many choices. After sifting through the options, we chose a dainty strawberry and floral tableware set. We also chose a strawberry balloon set.
We did have little “thank you” goodie bags for the kids that came. This pack included everything we would need. We just needed to put it all together. My boys were enlisted to help me stuff the bags. They loved helping me get ready for their sister’s party. I think they were more excited than I was!
Less is more
For the food, we had mini strawberries, cookies, donuts, and cupcakes, along with brats for dinner. When it comes to food, we learned to keep it simple and limited. Otherwise, it becomes time intensive, and we don’t get to enjoy the party as much. The phrase less is more is my mantra for these events. It also reminds me to not get too carried away in the planning.
Thankfully my mother is a wonderful baker, and she offered to make the Strawberry Shortcake. The recipe is coming soon on Baker’s Corner! The cake topper also came from Amazon and was the focal point of the food table. It was absolutely perfect!
Two-sweet was a blast to put together! It showcased our daughter’s vibrant personality perfectly. And we got to shower her with all the love that she deserves!
