The days are long, the nights are short. The crying and whining are fingernails on a chalkboard, the hugs and kisses are the balm to the soul. The fighting is outrageous, the kindness melts the heart. Tempers flare; tears come in torrents – HELP! I have toddlers.
Have you ever felt completely lost in this season. So many voices telling you how to raise your children. Do you do gentle parenting or old school parenting? In the midst of heated moments do you feel like screaming?
I know I do.
Several years ago, I lost a battle with my toddler. I went scouring the internet for help in raising my toddlers in a God honoring way. I searched for a sound, gracious voice that did not make me feel like a failure as a parent. A voice that brought encouragement and helpful solutions to raising Godly children. In my search, the Lord brought Ginger Hubbard to me.
Ginger Hubbard, the lady that brought calm and clarity to my home. I say she brought it, but I know God used her to transform how I parent.
Ginger Hubbard and at the time I found her, Katy Morgan her co-host, filled my heart with encouragement. They spurred me on to be a better mom. Her episodes span from marriage to raising adult children and everything in between. She covers topics like how to do biblical discipline. She also discusses how to handle whining and how to get your kids to share.
Instead of giving her opinion, she gives Biblical reasons and references as her answers. Her main focal point is reaching the child’s heart for the Lord. She gives practical advice, and she gives encouragement to the tired parents listening.
I can listen to her episodes on repeat, because they are applicable every single day. Whether the day be filled with whining or filled with joy, she offers a podcast that just hits the spot. I fall into a parenting rut sometimes. When nothing seems to be working, I go back to Ginger for a push in the right direction.
Even today, I had to re-listen to her episode on discipline mistakes parents make. I needed the reminder to go to the heart of the issue not just on the behavioral modification.
Parenting with Ginger Hubbard is not just a podcast, but a lifeline from the Lord.
