All in

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, so that you obey its desires. And do not offer any parts of it to sin as weapons for unrighteousness. But as those who are alive from the dead, offer yourselves to God, and all the parts of yourselves to God as weapons for righteousness.
Romans 6:12-13

This past week I was reading Romans. This verse stood out to me. Specifically, the word “all” in verse 13.

“…But as those who are alive from the dead, offer yourselves to God, and all the parts of yourselves to God as weapons for righteousness.”

“All” means “every one (of), or the complete amount or number (of), or the whole (of):

I was convicted, because so often I do not do everything as for the Lord. I do it out of selfish ambition, pride, and ignorance. But these verses point to the new life that I have in Christ. I am free from those motivations, the selfish and sinful human nature. I have been made righteous through Jesus! Not just a little of myself but ALL of myself has been made righteous through Christ.

Because He made me right before God, I can willingly come to the Lord. And in gratitude for forgiving me of my sins I give ALL myself to Him for His honor and His glory. All parts of me.

When I think of “all parts” that includes all of me physically, but emotionally, mentally, spiritually. If I hold a little back from Him, I am offering it to sin and thus unrighteousness.

God didn’t pick and choose which parts He liked best in me to transform. He chose the ENTIRE me to transform.

Your Monday Moment

What parts of yourself have you not fully offered to the Lord?

How can you, this week, bring God glory in ALL aspects of your life?
