Yet I do not forget

By

"My eyes fail[with longing watching] for [the fulfillment of] Your promise, saying "when will You comfort me?"
Psalm 119:82

Last week was a week that evil seemed to abound.

There was death all around the world. Pain seemed to settle on the nation as we watched Charlie Kirk killed, a woman was stabbed on a subway, there were school shootings, and a bus accident near our home.

I was and am filled with a longing for this world to be healed.

I am longing for the promises of the Lord to come to pass.

As I read these verses in Psalm 119 I felt seen and understood. God knows that we are waiting for Him to return and make all things right again. He knows that we just want to be with Him.

He brings comfort to those who are brokenhearted. The knowledge that He sees, He knows, and He is with those who call on His name is the comfort my soul needs.

As I continued to read, verse 83 and 88 stood out to me.

“For I have become like a wineskin [blackened and shriveled] in the smoke [in which it hangs], YET I do not forget your statutes… According to Your steadfast love refresh me and give me life, so that I may keep and obey the testimony of Your mouth”

In spite of all the heinous acts that are going on in this world – God gives life and refreshes His children so that we can stand tall and continue to do the good work He has called us to.

Followers of Jesus – arise.

Unite for the sake of the Gospel. So, we may fulfill our calling in this world. To make disciples of all nations – To bring the truth of Jesus to those around us.

Your Monday Moment

Pray for the courage to fulfill your calling as a Believer.

For those who do not believe, I am praying the Lord is using this circumstances that are going on right now to soften your heart to His calling your name. He desires all to be saved and none to experience the eternal separation from Him in Hell.
