For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
Thanksgiving is over, Christmas is here.
Bustling around, being like the Who’s in Whoville or turning into the Green menace on the mountain seem to be the normal.
‘Tis the season to slow down, not speed up.
My challenge this year is to not keep up with the latest and greatest gifts, crafts, activities – but be present with my husband, my kids and my family.
Christmas is the season to focus on the greatest gift that has ever been given to us.
Jesus.
The little baby who grew up to be the savior of the world. Isaiah 9:6 is speaks of the savior of the world.
Pause and consider what this holiday would be without Him? Would we even have Christmas without the birth of Christ? Or would it just be another day?
Because of Him we have a holiday that we all look forward to every year.
Your Monday Moment
What are you looking forward to the most this holiday season?
How can focusing on the gift of Jesus slow you down this season?
