Mommys must have – slow cookers

By

These last two months have been a doozy. Sicknesses, birthdays, low-energy days… have missed writing, but lacked the brain power to come up with two cohesive sentences. I feel motivated, though, today to get typing again!

In my home, between 4 pm and 5:30 pm, chaos ensues. 9 times out of 10, I am making dinner, and EVERYONE needs mommy.

One thing that I am learning is that as a mama of 4, soon to be 5, my meal prep needs to be streamlined.

My “mommy must have” this week is my ever-accountable slow cooker and Instant Pot.

Recently, I have been relying on my slow cooker heavily. I use a “Green Pan” * quart slow cooker. Not only is it a non-toxic option for a slow cooker, but it is also able to reheat leftovers! I am sure that most crock pots have that ability…but does yours have a “reheat” button?!

Along with the slow cooker, I have been using my Instant Pot on repeat. I try to cut grocery costs by making a few staples myself. The most common staple besides bread I make is yogurt. I use my Instant Pot to make almost a gallon of yogurt about every week. We eat A LOT of yogurt in our home. Below are links to reliable yogurt recipes using your Instant Pot.

Adding a slow cooker to your kitchen is a necessity for calm at the end of the night.

With its help, I can be present with my family and a little less frazzled as the night winds down. I can use that time I would normally be cooking to read to my kids, catch up with my husband, or even read a book by myself (it happens on occasion!)

This “mommy must have” has brought peace and calm to my home, and I am forever grateful!
