This is what the Lord says: ‘If you can break My covenant for the day and My covenant for the night, so that day and night do not occur at their proper time, ²¹ then My covenant with David My servant may also be broken, so that he will not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levitical priests, My ministers. ²² As the heavenly lights cannot be counted, and the sand of the sea cannot be measured, so I will multiply the descendants of My servant David and the Levites who serve Me.’” – Jeremiah 33:19-22

Can you make the sun rise?

Can you make the sun set?

I can’t.

The verses above, and riddled throughout the Bible, speak to God’s faithfulness.

I have moments of feeling far from God, or doubting what His word says. But this morning, reading these verses, my heart was so encouraged.

I am a mere human. I cannot make the morning come, or the evening come. Only their creator can do that. That creator is God. Yahweh.

We can not break God’s covenant with the morning and evening. We cannot break His promises that are in the Bible.

Oh, how great is our God!
